Pediatric EchocardiographyEchocardiography Skills Training Course
Performing and understanding echocardiography is a fundamental core skill for every pediatric cardiologist. It is part of every basic and advanced assessment of cardiovascular anatomy and function of normal as well as malformed hearts and gives an insight into the most current physiology, as it may be dynamic. Thus, echocardiography has a central role in the management of critically ill pediatric patients by evaluating transitional physiology in the neonate and giving insight into the current hemodynamic status in the intensive care unit.
This course offers a comprehensive overview of pediatric echocardiography from the basic technical aspects of setting up the echo machine to systematic morphologic and functional assessment of the normal and malformed heart. Imaging of the most common types of simple and complex congenital heart disease will be presented to the attendees. In addition, a special focus will be the point of care echocardiography in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit.
There will be a session on echocardiography in the critical care unit, the course offers also hands-on sessions in pediatric echocardiography. A final mock examination will test the efficacy of the course and prepare for the accreditation examination of pediatric and congenital cardiology.
As usual, our esteemed faculty consists of notable European and local cardiologists. We promise you a comprehensive and diverse program, appealing to a large public of young pediatric cardiologists in training, neonatologists, and interested pediatricians looking to jumpstart their theoretical and practical skills in the field of pediatric echocardiography.
